How the top-up works
No account and no app. You need the number printed on your card, an amount, and a payment method. Below is exactly what happens at each step and how long it takes.
Step by step
-
Find your card number
Turn the card over. The number is printed on the back, usually in the lower corner. Enter the digits only — spaces and dashes are ignored automatically.
-
Confirm the number
You type it a second time. The two fields must match, which removes the most common cause of a top-up landing on the wrong card.
-
Choose the amount
Quick amounts cover most trips, or you can enter any value between AED 10.00 and AED 500.00. The service fee and the final total update instantly as you type.
-
Pay securely
You are handed to the encrypted page of our payment provider to enter your bank card. That page is theirs, not ours: your card data never reaches our servers.
-
Credit is applied
The balance is normally updated within about ten seconds of a successful payment. You will see a confirmation page with a reference number.
-
Keep the receipt
A receipt with the reference number, amount and fee is emailed to you. Quote that reference in any support request and we can find the transaction immediately.
How long each part takes
- Filling the form
- about 30 seconds
- Payment authorisation
- 5 to 20 seconds
- Balance update
- about 10 seconds
- Email receipt
- under 1 minute
Checking your new balance
- Tap at any gate or validator — the balance appears on the reader.
- Ask at a service counter inside a station.
- Check the confirmation page or the receipt we email you.
If something looks wrong
- Balance not visible yet? Wait two minutes and tap again; the reader caches the last value briefly.
- Payment declined? Nothing is charged. Start again or use another card.
- Wrong card number entered? Contact us with your reference number as soon as possible so we can help.
